heya, know this probably has an obvious answer, sorry - my site is www.buriedatsea.org - I want to make a link to my blog on the left - at present it links to the blog via the Iframed app - so the link is - http://www.buriedatsea.org/index.php?/blog/
and i'd like it to just go to - blog.buriedatsea.org
I've tried using the links manager but am obviously doing it wrong....

What you're asking is a little bit tricky.

Do you want to have the indexhibit left menu? when viewing your blog? If you do, your best option is using the iframe plugin (as you're doing), and follow the "clean url tutorial". This will give you a url of www.buriedatsea.org/blog (not as simple as a subdomain, but good enough).

If the indexhibit left side navigation isn't necessary, you can just make a link to blog.buriedatsea.org within your prenav window in the settings panel.

VoilĂ , imperfect answers. I hope they help nonetheless!

ooh thanks. I'm going through the clean url tutorial and have renamed the htaccess to .htaccess (in Filezilla) - but stuck at how to open and change the properties of the default.php file. Clues?

download it with your ftp app and open it with a text editor... edit, save and then re-upload it to the original place.

ok done that, thanks. I should have known that, as I do whatever small amounts of html editing in text editors. Ok my urls are now clean and I've put direct links to my blog and flickr stream in my prenav window - so it's all good, except I'm now getting the dreaded Error 500 message for each page. Internal server error - looking through the forum, it looks like maybe I'll now have to upload everything again to a different folder - is that it? Sorry thanks!

That means that you don't have mod_rewrite on your server...clean url's won't work (it's a hosting issue). You'll have to go back to messy urls.

Hello Vaska,

I'm looking foward to add a blog to my site soon.
I was wondering if the new release of indexhibit with blog will hit anytime soon, or should i put one to a right frame.

Thanks a lot
Sébastien
