Installed everything successfully and started to upload some images in a folder to try it out.
but when I chose to view my page it was blank. Tried typing in various urls but all were blank.
Then read on the read me file that you should delete the install.php file so I did. I also decided for some reason i'd try moving all the folders form the ndxz-studio folder straight into the root folder, but soon realised I should move them back.
I think i've damaged something in the process, as it's not working now.
Can u tell me what I was doing wrong in the first place, but also how to fix the folders, or is it just a case of re installing?

It's nearly impossible for us to guess where you put things and/or what files you may have damaged.

It would be easiest if you started over with a fresh installation and files.

Could you tell me how to view the site.
I've installed it and uploaded some images. Is there another step before you can view the site, do I need to link something, complete something else?

Something isn't right there...you have uploaded the index.php file to the root?

yeah uploaded index.php to the root.
just deleted the database, re-installed it all and started again - still no luck?

are there meant to be any files in public_html before you upload anything (that I may have wrongly deleted) even though i was still having this problem before i deleted anything.

Each hosting company does it differently -some call their root folder "root", soma call it "public-html", some call it "www".

We can't determine where you've put the files, only you can.

try these two things:

1) ask your host
2) when you click on the "view my site" at the top right of your indexhibit, where does it take you?

yeah i've definitely uploaded all the files in the root folder/file which is public-html according to my host.
As far as I can see everything is fine.
But when I click "view my site" I just get a blank page..

Have you asked your host? Something is really not right there...I don't think it's Indexhibit. Ask they why your page won't appear...could be a permissions issue even (that they would need to deal with - seen it before a few times now).

Hi, I'm having the same sorts of issues viewing my site. I got everything in the root, but the placeholder from the host is still sitting there ... there is a note that says ...

"In order for a visitor to see your web site at your domain, your site must include a file called "index.html." Files called "page1.html" or "home.html" or "default.html" for example, will NOT appear as your primary page when visitors arrive. You should rename it index.html for it to be visible as your site's default home page."

I guess this is the problem but I'm not quite sure how to fix it. index.php is in there but I can't seem to locate index.html ....

I think you are looking in the wrong folder then because if index.html is there (has not been deleted) and index.php is there...it will be very obvious.

I've looked in every folder :( I've tried deleting and re-installing, but that default placeholder is still there. What am I possibly doing wrong?

goto the main page...then hold down Shift and hit the Refresh key on your browser...what happens?

it works for me...your old page (blank) was cached...now you've updated the cache...
