The jpegs I originally uploaded and placed a few days ago are too long for the page, so I am trying to resize them to fit. I am resizing in Photoshop and know they are the right size and should fit, but every time I upload them, they still look like my originals - too long.

I have tried deleting all trace of the files from my image folder, but every time i upload the new resized image - no matter how much smaller it is - it still looks the same as my originals (too long). It there some code somewhere on my host that is forcing these images (no matter how small i make them) to always be the same size as the originals i uploaded when i started?

Here is the link to the slideshow: http://www.oapostropheb.com/index.php?/broadcast/

thank you. chris

Taken a look at your provided link

What is your screens resolution/what resolution are you designing for? (1024x768px is good practice)

Taking the image down from 813×277px to a width a height pixels smaller will help. Also, try clearing your browsers cache before refreshing.

Let us know, peace.

got it, thanks. turned out to be a Photoshop user error. i guess that's what a copywriter gets for trying to design.

wait a sec... well, i was able to fix that one page, but still having trouble with others. on a macbook pro using rez of 1280 x 854.

to test my if i was sizing correctly i also loaded one image using the Files Manager, and it looked just fine, corrcet size. but then i try to upload in the images folder and it still appears bigger. would just use the Files Manager but can't for a slideshow layout that needs multiple images.

turns out there is an even simpler explanation: my host server is s-l-o-w. It was taking at least five minutes for my images to update and show up resized on my site. Patience, young Skywalker.
